Sometimes some members find it hard to get their rats with other rats.
With bucks people say it is so hard to get two single males together. I have not had a problem with introductions but i know of alot of people ending up with deeply scared rats from fights. Bucks i find fight a bit more than females i think this is due because some bucks still are dominant till the age of 10 months they can calm down alot more after that age.
Here are things that can help your rats get along together.
- Wash all cage equipment and cage so all rat smell is not on the cage. - Wash the rats that you are introducing and rub vanilla essance or talk powder on their back. - Let them see each other on the couch or bed everyday - Let them wonder into the cage and put some nice smelly food into the cage so they are more interesting in eating.
Sometimes after they have eaten they can fight since they just start taking notice who is in the cage. but all the times i have done this i have had them sharing food, cleaning, grooming each over since they like to lick themself after baths or getting wet.
